Esther: Getting ready

Oh, the getting ready. When it comes to photography, it’s often the first thing that clients decide to leave out if they’re looking to shorten the amount of coverage on the day. Yet I personally think it’s such a special moment to capture and look back on the photos. That unique mix of excitement and nervousness that is like nothing else you’ve experienced. The anticipation in the air, and all the attention that goes into the details of the hair, makeup and accessories. This is the first ever getting-ready that I photographed back in 2017, so I for sure learnt a lot of things in the meantime about how to craft a meaningful getting-ready story by means of photographs. I decided to still share it on this blog as it will be interesting to look back at. And I still like those pictures, even if my style (and equipment) has evolved quite a bit since.
