Bali engagement shooting: Priscille & Antoine

A spacious, colonial style hotel on the Balinese coast and a volcanic black sand beach: what else can you wish for a couple shooting decor? As the sunlight softened and turned golden, Priscille, Antoine and I wandered through the lofty hallways of the hotel, playing with perspectives and light, and ended up by the ocean just across the hotel’s park. The fun story behind all of this is that I had shot their wedding (actually one of the very first weddings I photographed) a few years earlier, and they had wished to leave the couple shooting aside on that day because neither of them wasn’t too keen to pose. (I mean, look at the pictures below and tell me if they’re not top models??) And there we were, four years later in Bali, for Priscille’s sister’s wedding – shooting their beautiful bond. One of my favourite couple shootings ever. Well I guess almost all my shootings are my favourite at some point, but this one is special to me. Not only because the backdrop was so different to what I’m used to, so it felt particularly fun, but also because Priscille and Antoine are two humans with true hearts of gold and it felt like a privilege getting to photograph with them a second time, in such an unexpected manner.
